Madewell Spring 2010

Ok, ok. Time for shameless promotion.

The best part about working for a clothing store is genuinely being excited about the products we have almost all of the time. I'm lucky enough to work in a store with pretty feaking cute stuff. Granted, not all of it is my cup of tea, but there are still some things that I would just DIE to have in my closet, and would probably buy on my own regardless of working there.

That being said we got some Spring stuff in today. I am in love with these looks from the website. I already bought the sandals in brown. Clearly it's not spring, but I have been looking for something like them since last summer and I would be foolish to pass them up. I'm already dreaming of the long, flowy summer dresses I'm going to wear with them.... siiiiiigh.

The dress is just out of control. It has everything that I look for in a dress, but can almost never find: long sleeves, above the knee length and a cinched in waist. I also love the slight boat neck. I personally feel the most comfortable in dresses like this, which is why I flip if and when I ever find them.

I tried of the skirt today and it's so flattering! Perfect with a sheer, slouchy t-shirt for the hot summer days or layered with a cardigan like in the lookbook. Cardigans and skirt are the biggest staples in my wardrobe so this particular is right up my alley. I think it's a really accessible look too - something you can dress up or down.

The floral blouse is so breezy and effortless. The floral pattern looks like some beautiful old fabric your grandma may have owned back in the 40's or 50's. It also reminds of of all those French girls on style blogs who just happen to own things that they can just throw on with jeans and look totally put together. Like, "Oh, hey! I just found this in the bottom of my dirty laundry pile, but somehow I look like a freaking super model in it!" In my imaginary life, I can also achieve that effortlessness, but only if I own that blouse!

On another note, this model makes me want to chop off my hair and get a wavy perm. Well, maybe not a perm, but you know what I'm saying,

Now, go out there and cure those Winter blues and start shoppin'!
