So as you may or may not have guessed by now, my birthday is on July 4th. For some people, having a birthday on a holiday can suck, but generally my birthday is always pretty great. I actually don't like the attention that comes with birthdays, so having my b-day on the 4th is kinda perfect. A lot of the time I don't have to plan anything for myself because there's already something going on. My birthday is just a side note.
This year, however, I did plan something. My good friend Nick has a work space in Williamsburg and he offered it up for a BBQ and all evening hang out spot. Some of his studio mates had the same idea so there was a really good group of people hanging out all afternoon and evening. The space is also one block from the water, so we were able to make our way to a pier to watch the AMAZING sunset. The fireworks have been on the Hudson River three years in a row now, which totally sucks because New Jersey and Manhattan get to see the NYC fireworks while Queens and Brooklyn are deprived. I'm hoping they will change their minds next year and have them on the East River. NJ has their own fireworks on the river anyway! No fair guys. No fair.
There are a lot of photos from the BBQ so I will be doing this in at least two posts. First up are Anna's photos (thanks lady, you're the best)! I was really excited that Anna and Emily were able to come by and hang out for a while. I just love those ladies so much! I'm kind of a silly person and these ladies can share a good laugh with me. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Emily when she moves to Brooklyn at the end of the summer. She got me some ridiculous glitter hair spray as a gift, which is just amazing and hilarious. Lady is legit!
There are lots more fun photos to come including some of the epic sunset, so stay tuned!
