Champagne Toast

Shirt: Urban on sale
Skirt: Top Shop via Buffalo Exchange
Bag: Libris Lunaria
Socks: J.Crew
Shoes: Madewell

Big news! Greg's tiny (no joke - 4'8"), adorable and very sweet mom is getting married! This is very exciting and so so sweet because her fiancee, Dr. Mike as we like to call him, is just such a wonderful man. We went to Greg's brother's place for a champagne toast and then to dinner to celebrate. We picked up some flowers on the way there and they kind of matched what I was wearing, so I couldn't resist a few shots with them.

I'm really in love with this skirt. I got it sometime in the Spring this past year, but I've only worn it a couple times since then. For whatever reason, I have been sporting it a lot lately. Maybe because I feel like longer skirts are the perfect transitional item. They keep off the chill without having to take the plunge into tights. The goldeny mustard is a perfect fall color, not to mention the wood buttons and the stitching details on the pockets. They give it a country vibe, which I'm always in to. The little rooster print on my shirt emphasizes the country vibe a little without being too obvious.

It's also just like me to jump into the sock trend like, a year after it was a thing. I dunno why, but I just didn't feel like socks with shoes, sandals etc. worked on me. Now I love it and I have been sporting these little black ones with my favorite lace up booties almost every day since the cooler weather arrived.

Still waiting on my film and the suspense is killing me! Sigh. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that they will be here by the end if next week!

Your outfits are always so good. And I love the socks with the Madewell boots (aren't they the best ones ever?). I love socks with shoes but not on me, but for some reason the boots and socks seem easier to pull off. They seem less kid-ish or something.
